Fishing Reports

7-22-14

There were some Blues around in the surf yesterday hitting bunker and mullet. Fluke is still the #1 target off the beaches with a bucktail tipped with Gulp 4" Chartreuse or Pearl White swimming mullet. This combination is also working in the back behind IBSP. Also don't forget a Kingfish rig if you want to try for them off the surf. Clam strips, Fishbites and even Gulp Bloodworms will work.

Crabbing is doing well especially in the river and there are plenty of snappers around.

There were some Blues around on the surf yesterday as well as some Fluke. Remember you are allowed 2 Fluke over 16 inches "Only" at IBSP and you need to get them tagged.

Snappers on spearing in the bay and river is whats happening as well as some nice catches of crabs being reported.

Nothing much to report on Bass and Blues in the surf but the Fluke were around. If your heading out don't forget a Kingfish rig you just might be surprised.

Customers coming in for frozen bunker are saying the crabbing is pretty good in the river with snappers around also to keep you busy.

Kingfish in the surf are starting to be reported so you might want to gear down with a Kingfish rig with clam strips or Fishbites. Gulp Bloodworms will also work. There are also Fluke around so don't forget your bucktails. Short Bass up to 23 inches along with cocktail sized Blues were roaming around behind IBSP.

Crabbing remains pretty good especially in the river and the snappers will also keep you busy.

Justin Murphy brought in a 3.05 pound Winter Flounder he caught off a party boat that Bob weighed in yesterday afternoon.

Slow day on the surf yesterday. Fluke would be your best bet to target with a bucktail and some Gulp if your heading out. Penn Battles are 20% off on in store stock in both shops until they are gone.
