Fishing Reports

7-24-14

Just heard from a friend of mine there are some Blues roaming the surf. Fluke remain active if you work for them and there are some nice sized one's waiting for that bucktail tipped with Gulp. We just got in another order of Gulp Baits and the shelves are stocked in both shops. Penn Battles remain at 20% off in both shops as well as all Gibbs Lures "in shop only" until the stock runs out.

Depending on who you talk to crabbing seems to be hit or miss with the river being "Hit" as well as the West side of the bay and river. If you are crabbing the East side get there at the crack of dawn or "First Light" before the crowds get to where you are planning on going and your catch might increase. Showing up later in the day after bait was in the water all day might affect your catch of keepers. Just something to think about as well as the tide. Snappers remain active all over the river and bay.

There were some Blues around in the surf yesterday but not anything major. They were hitting mullet and Fresh Bunker. Some good reports of Fluke also.

Crabbing in the river continues to be good and the snapper blues are hungry.

There were some Blues around in the surf yesterday hitting bunker and mullet. Fluke is still the #1 target off the beaches with a bucktail tipped with Gulp 4" Chartreuse or Pearl White swimming mullet. This combination is also working in the back behind IBSP. Also don't forget a Kingfish rig if you want to try for them off the surf. Clam strips, Fishbites and even Gulp Bloodworms will work.

Crabbing is doing well especially in the river and there are plenty of snappers around.

There were some Blues around on the surf yesterday as well as some Fluke. Remember you are allowed 2 Fluke over 16 inches "Only" at IBSP and you need to get them tagged.

Snappers on spearing in the bay and river is whats happening as well as some nice catches of crabs being reported.

Nothing much to report on Bass and Blues in the surf but the Fluke were around. If your heading out don't forget a Kingfish rig you just might be surprised.

Customers coming in for frozen bunker are saying the crabbing is pretty good in the river with snappers around also to keep you busy.
