IT'S TEASER TIME

Shorts off the surf hitting artificials with a teaser so move around if you can and for the bait and waiters it's bunker chunks and mullet with some small blues and short bass. Virginia and Gene Murphy picked up gator blues at the canal last night on live eels and SP Minnows. Short bass again last night hitting small swimmers and swim shads in the back and the Toms River. More fresh bunker came in last night and we have live eels, green crabs and plenty of mullet in stock.

We heard of a few bass off the surf yesterday hitting bunker but that's about it as the bait didn't get pushed in like the day before. Move around with artificials and see what happens and don't forget a bunker snag. The canal and the North jetty produced blackfish yesterday and a couple guys fishing the canal last night with live eels found a couple bass. Short bass again last night in the Ocean gate area on small swimmers and swim shads with a teaser in front.

Things picked up yesterday off of the local beaches as there was plenty of bait around and bunker snags and artificials was the way to go as there were keeper bass popping up hitting poppers and swimmers. If the bunker came in close enough snag and drop worked in a couple spots. We had a customer pick up a couple false albacore on a Jetty Ghost 1.5 OZ Rainfish who was in the right spot at the right time when they cruised by. Jim Morbit and Charlie Burke weighed in a 29 1/2 pound bass they got by boat outside of the Old Barny Inlet by snagging and dropping bunker. Plenty of short bass at night in the back and the Toms River hitting small swimmers and swim shads with a teaser. More fresh clams, fresh bunker, green crabs and live eels came in.

Justin Murphy had a good day with trout in Toms River today on trout magnets and we have meal worms, wax worms, garden worms and nightcrawlers as well as plenty of trout magnets for those of you who want to give freshwater a shot.

There were some gator blues around the last couple of days as Jim Humbert picked them up in Oyster Creek on bunker chunks and Gregg Wildermuth picked them up in the Manasquan inlet. A few keeper bass were picked up last night off the surf on SP Minnows and a few more this morning so hopefully things are starting to happen. There are large blues still roaming the local docks and piers in the back and in the Toms River along with short bass hitting small swimmers especially at night in a few spots. The blackfish bite in the canal and off the IBSP jetty is good as keepers are being caught on green crabs. We have fresh bunker with more coming in this afternoon and we have live eels and green crabs.

Get out there.

A few small blues hitting bunker and mullet off the surf yesterday and we heard of a couple more that hit metals and SP Minnows. The back bay and the Toms River is producing short bass at night on small swimmers with a teaser but the key is to be moving. Brian Lindner and Rob Cashin picked up a couple nice blackfish on green crabs. Fresh bunker came in and we have live eels but fresh clams are tough to get right now and we hope to have them soon. We have plenty of salted clams if your interested.
