Fishing Reports

7-30-16

Not many people out early yesterday morning due to the storms but after they passed we did hear of a couple keeper fluke off the surf on IBSP. Crabbing was good again yesterday.

Brian and Christina Lindner got out early this morning in their boat and had 11 fluke in an hour with with 2 keepers. They got a few on killies and the rest on Gulp drifting the Oyster Creek Channel area.

Cocktail size blues popping in and out off the surf hitting bunker chunks, mullet and metals so if your baiting and waiting grab a second rod and throw an AOK PB-40, Hopkins, Kastmaster, Tsunami Shockwave or a Gator and see what happens. Bucktails tipped with Gulp and a teaser or a Jetty Ghost Mullnut, Minnow, Rainfish or a slim with a teaser might get you a couple fluke if you are willing to move around. Sharks at night hitting bunker and mackerel. Crabs, snappers and blowfish will keep you busy in the back bays and both sides of the Toms River. Bring the rain gear this morning if your heading out and hopefully the afternoon will clear up.

Very quiet off the surf yesterday as we didn't hear to much with not many fisherman out there but the crabbing picked up as Tony the Crab Man picked up a cooler full. If your looking for a nice blue claw crab dinner now is the time to hit the back bays and both sides of the Toms River.

The storms and the forecast kept most people away from the surf but after they passed yesterday morning we did hear of a couple keeper fluke off of IBSP. Reports of decent catches of crabs came in again from those using overnight pots and from those who went out later yesterday morning after the T-Storms passed.
