Fishing Reports

7-31-14

Not much going on in the surf again yesterday with customers coming in mostly for crabbing bunker and spearing for snappers. Boat guys coming in for killies and squid are now reporting a lot of shorts around the BB and BI with a few keepers mixed in. There are plenty of keeper sized Fluke if you work for them off the beach. You might to try and keep moving and casting onto the bar and Jig into the hole. They are there and also behind IBSP.

Last day of July and it's time to start thinking about the Fall run with new line, plugs, AVA's and AOK's. Our Gibbs Lures are still 50% off and there are a few Penn Battles left at 20% off in stock only at both shops.

Crabbing in the river and bay  remains very good. If your in a boat the West side at Good Luck Point and "Near" is doing "Very" well. Snappers to cocktail sized Blues will also keep you busy.

Pretty quiet on the surf yesterday with not many people out. Everyone must have been crabbing which is doing very well in the river. Plenty of snappers out there to keep you busy also. We still have some Penn Battles in stock at both shops at 20% off.

Fluke is the word off the surf with some small blues as well. Try gearing down with a Kingfish rig and some clam strips, Fishbites, Bloodworms or Gulp Bloodworms. Try a combo on your high / low rig and see what they might want. Drag the bottom with a 2 ounce bank sinker "very" slow. Stop for a few seconds and drag again with a few cranks of the reel and continue that until you find them if they are there.

Crabbing and snappers in the river remain good with some nice catches of keeper crabs.

As the Fluke are getting larger more and more people are taking advantage of the 2 fish over 16 inches at IBSP. Please remember to get them tagged. There were some cocktail sized blues in the surf yesterday as well.

Crabbing in the river continues to be good with customers coming back for more bait and had some nice keepers. Snappers will also keep you busy.

Fluke is still the best bet off the surf and behind IBSP with bucktails and Gulp. A lot of shorts with a few keepers mixed in by the BB and BI in the bay. Snappers in the river and the crabbing remains good.

We just got a delivery of cooler racks in so we have 54's, 72's, 94's and 120's in stock.
