Fishing Reports

7-4-15

Looks like it's gonna be a good crabbing day. One of our customers picked up 4 dozen in Island Heights in a couple hours. Heard of a couple nice Fluke caught in the bay yesterday between the BB and BI bouy on killies. Snappers are starting to show and there are some blowfish around. Fresh Clams and Fresh Bunker came in yesterday and we have all the crabbing supplies needed to help you enjoy your day.

Happy 4th of July

A little slow again yesterday off the surf for blues but the fluke bite continues to improve for those targeting them. Bucktails tipped with Gulp and a teaser might put you on a fish for the table. If your looking for crabs now is the time to get out there and we have everything you need to help you put that catch together. More overnight pots and traps came in yesterday so stop in either shop and pick up what you need.

Slow off the surf yesterday with a few reports of Blues along with some Fluke but nothing major. Slow pick of Fluke in the back bay as well maybe due to the storm and the SW wind and there was A Lot of grass in most spots. We did find some cleaner water and found some fish between the BI and the inlet tucked in behind one of the islands North side but mostly shorts with Sal Fiori picking up the only keeper for the day. Hopefully the water cleaned up a little for those heading out today. Crabbing on both sides of the Toms River remains very good with customers taking home plenty for the table.

Fluke again off the local beaches was what was happening again yesterday. The boat guys are also getting them between the BB and BI bouy and behind Old Barney. Some blowfish in the back as well.

If your hitting the beach the best thing we can tell you is the Fluke bite remains pretty good. Bring those bucktails and teasers. Fresh Bunker and Fresh Clams came in yesterday as well as more live eels. We have plenty of killies and an assortment of frozen baits for all your fishing needs at both shops. Crabbing continues to be very good in the Toms River and they are only going to get bigger after the next full moon and their shed.
